Oil Tank Supplies (OTS) of Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestshire has increased its participation at the forthcoming LAMMA farm machinery show. In addition to the presentation of fuel oil storage solutions in the outside area, the company has taken a stand within Hall 1 for OTS TankCare a specialist division providing fuel test and quality monitoring solutions.

“Having adequate fuel supplies available is an important part of the logistics behind the modern farm, sales OTS sales director Steve Gain. “Storage facilities need to be secure, convenient and compliant with environmental regulations. Large capacity tanks are usually customised and OTS personnel will be available to discuss customer requirements.”

On display will be the Oil Transit Store – a portable tank which will hold 970 litres. The tank incorporates slots for loading onto a trailer for easier access to field operations. The tank is equipped with a 12 volt electric pump enabling it to be powered from the tractor electrics.

The move towards higher percentage biofuel contents has necessitated more stringent hygiene in oil storage facilities. Water contamination can very quickly lead to the rapid deterioration in fuel quality. Tanks should be drained when equipment is not in use and operators should avoid holding fuel stocks any longer than necessary to complete foreseeable operations.

OTS TankCare is a mobile service equipped to test fuel quality and provide fuel cleansing by recirculation of the tank contents through a filtration process. If fuel quality is in doubt, this process will safeguard productivity by removing contamination and any bacterial growth, which could potentially lead to machinery breakdowns.
